FAQ

FAQ Statement
Below is a list of questions we most often get asked.  We hope you find the information helpful.

Location

Where are you guys located?
Answer:  We are mainly based out of Bakersfield California, but have members from all over California, Arizona and Texas.

What tracks do you race at?
Answer
:  There are a number of tracks that we race at together.  Central Valley RC Club, Racers Haven, Hot Rod Hobbies, Golden Hills Raceway, Full Throttle Hobby and several others.  Check the forum for more information.

Equipment

Which RC Car should I buy?
Answer:  All of us drive different vehicles from all the major manufacturers.  Our best answer would be to go to your local track and hobby shop.  Find out what other racers are driving so that you can get setup help and make sure the LHS has part support.

Are hop up parts necessary?
Answer
:  Most cars these days are race ready right out of the box. There are always some weak parts that an aftermarket company might make that are better than the original although most are just for appearance.  Run the vehicle you choose stock and see which parts wear or break the most often.  If you notice it is always the same part, check and see if an aftermarket company is putting out an improved version that actually helps solve the problem that is causing the wear or breakage of the original part.   For others, the “Bling” factor is a huge part and some of the fun of building a racer.

Experience

How do I become faster at the track?
Answer:  Practice, Practice, Practice... Nothing improves your driving than actual wheel time.  When you are not racing watch how other racers drive, watch their line, listen to their engines for when they are on and off power.  Walk the track and get a good upclose look at the variables. You will often notice things you cannot see from the drivers stand.
